Writing Rules

General Writing Rules

To ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly research, authors submitting manuscripts to SFREMS are expected to comply with the following requirements:

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in any other journal, conference proceedings, or publishing platform.

Authors are strongly encouraged to screen their manuscripts using reputable similarity detection software prior to submission to minimize plagiarism and facilitate an efficient editorial review process.

Manuscripts derived from conference presentations or conference proceedings are considered only if they have been substantially revised and expanded into a distinct scholarly work. Authors are responsible for securing any necessary permissions from the copyright holder, where applicable.

SFREMS publishes complete scholarly manuscripts, including original research articles, action research, review articles, systematic reviews, theoretical and conceptual papers, case studies, and other scholarly contributions that fall within the journal's aims and scope.

All listed authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions to the manuscript and must approve the final version prior to submission.

Authors are required to comply with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy, including policies on authorship, originality, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, research integrity, and ethical publication practices.

SFREMS is a fully Open Access journal. Authors retain copyright to their work, which is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

Manuscripts may be submitted in either Filipino or English. Filipino is the primary language of publication of the journal. English-language manuscripts are likewise accepted provided they fall within the journal's aims and scope.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the grammatical accuracy, clarity, academic quality, and consistency of the language used throughout the manuscript before submission.

Original research articles should generally contain 6,000–8,000 words, excluding tables, figures, appendices, and references. Longer manuscripts may be considered when justified by their scholarly contribution.
