Aims & Scope

Aims of the Journal

Sapientia Filipina: Review of Education and Multidisciplinary Studies (SFREMS) aims to serve as a leading Philippine peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing knowledge, research, innovation, and professional practice across the fields of education and multidisciplinary studies. The journal is committed to promoting high-quality scholarship through the publication of original research articles, action research, theoretical and conceptual papers, systematic reviews, review articles, case studies, policy analyses, and other scholarly works that address contemporary issues and emerging challenges relevant to the Philippines while contributing to regional and global academic discourse.

As a journal that primarily publishes scholarly works in the Filipino language, SFREMS seeks to strengthen Filipino scholarship by encouraging the use of the national language as a medium for academic communication, research dissemination, and knowledge production. At the same time, the journal recognizes the importance of international scholarly engagement and welcomes manuscripts written in English, provided they fall within the journal's aims and scope and comply with the journal's language requirements.

SFREMS aspires to bridge academic research and professional practice by publishing studies that provide meaningful theoretical contributions, methodological innovations, evidence-based recommendations, and practical applications for educators, researchers, scientists, policymakers, educational leaders, professionals, practitioners, government agencies, industry partners, and multidisciplinary scholars. The journal encourages research that supports educational improvement, scientific advancement, technological innovation, sustainable development, community empowerment, and informed decision-making within the Philippine context and beyond.

The journal welcomes manuscripts employing diverse research methodologies:

Quantitative Qualitative Mixed-Methods Experimental Quasi-Experimental Action Research Design-Based Research Descriptive Correlational Phenomenological Ethnographic Grounded Theory Case Study Systematic Review Meta-Analysis Bibliometric Analysis + other interdisciplinary approaches

Authors may submit manuscripts in either Filipino or English. To promote accessibility for both national and international audiences, manuscripts written in Filipino must include an English translation of the title, an English abstract, and English keywords, while manuscripts written in English must include a Filipino translation of the title, a Filipino abstract, and Filipino keywords. These bilingual requirements enhance the discoverability, accessibility, and scholarly impact of published research while reinforcing the journal's commitment to promoting Filipino scholarship.
