Article Processing Charge (APC)

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Overview

The Review of Economics, Accounting, Business, and Management Studies (REABMS) is committed to providing high-quality, ethical, and fully open-access scholarly publishing while maintaining rigorous editorial standards and an independent double-blind peer review process. To support the costs associated with editorial management, manuscript processing, copyediting, typesetting, digital publication, long-term preservation, and the dissemination of scholarly research, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication.

Editorial decisions are made independently of any financial considerations. The ability or inability of an author to pay publication fees does not influence editorial evaluation, peer review outcomes, or publication decisions.

Submission Fee

No Submission Fee

REABMS does not charge authors any fee for:

  • Manuscript submission;
  • Initial editorial assessment;
  • Editorial screening;
  • Similarity checking conducted by the journal;
  • Double-blind peer review.

Authors may submit manuscripts without any financial obligation.

Every submission is evaluated solely on the basis of:

  • Originality;
  • Scholarly significance;
  • Methodological rigor;
  • Ethical compliance;
  • Quality of writing;
  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
Payment is never requested before an editorial decision has been reached.

Payment Policy

Payment instructions will be issued only after the corresponding author receives a formal letter of acceptance from the Editorial Office.

Payment of the APC does not guarantee publication.

Publication remains contingent upon:

  • Completion of all required revisions;
  • Compliance with editorial requirements;
  • Successful copyediting and proofreading;
  • Final author approval of publication proofs;
  • Fulfillment of all ethical and publishing requirements.

Failure to complete these requirements may delay publication regardless of APC payment status.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

An APC is payable only after:

  • Successful completion of the editorial review process;
  • Favorable recommendations from peer reviewers;
  • Formal acceptance by the Editor-in-Chief.
Article Processing Charge (APC):
USD 50.00 per accepted article

The APC supports services including, but not limited to:

  • Editorial management;
  • Manuscript processing;
  • Double-blind peer review administration;
  • Professional copyediting;
  • Language editing where applicable;
  • Proofreading;
  • Typesetting and layout preparation;
  • Metadata preparation;
  • DOI registration (where applicable);
  • Online publication;
  • Website maintenance;
  • Digital preservation and archiving;
  • Open-access hosting;
  • Long-term accessibility and dissemination of published research.

The official Letter of Acceptance and the complete peer review report will be issued after the applicable Article Processing Charge (APC) has been paid. This policy has been implemented to address recurring cases in which manuscripts, although accepted after undergoing the full editorial and peer review process, are subsequently withdrawn or abandoned without proceeding to publication. Such practices consume significant editorial and reviewer resources, delay publication schedules, and reduce the efficiency of the journal's editorial operations. The APC is collected only after a manuscript has been accepted based solely on its scholarly merit and does not influence the editorial decision or the outcome of the peer review process.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are completely independent of publication fees.

Editors, reviewers, and editorial staff do not consider an author's ability or willingness to pay the APC when evaluating manuscripts.

Acceptance or rejection is based solely upon:

  • Academic quality;
  • Originality;
  • Scientific rigor;
  • Ethical compliance;
  • Relevance to the journal's scope;
  • Contribution to scholarly knowledge.

The payment of an APC neither guarantees acceptance nor influences editorial decision-making.

Fee Transparency

REABMS is committed to complete transparency regarding publication charges.

Unless otherwise announced, the journal does not charge additional fees for:

  • Manuscript submission;
  • Editorial evaluation;
  • Peer review;
  • Online publication;
  • Article access or downloads;
  • Color figures in the online version;
  • Supplementary materials.
Should publication fees change in the future, revised fees will be announced on the journal website before implementation and will apply only to new submissions received after the effective date.

Waivers and Discounts

To promote equitable access to scholarly publishing, REABMS may consider requests for partial or full APC waivers or discounts in exceptional circumstances.

Waiver requests are evaluated individually and may take into account factors such as:

  • Demonstrated financial hardship;
  • Authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries;
  • Lack of research funding;
  • Institutional support limitations;
  • Other exceptional circumstances deemed appropriate by the Editorial Board.

Requests for waivers must be submitted before APC payment and will be evaluated independently of the editorial review process.

The granting or denial of a waiver has no influence on editorial decisions.

Refund Policy

Because editorial and production services begin immediately after manuscript acceptance, APC payments are generally non-refundable once production has commenced.

Refunds may be considered only in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Duplicate payment;
  • Administrative or billing error by the journal;
  • Other circumstances approved by the Publisher or Editorial Office.

Refund requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Use of APC Revenue

Revenue generated through APCs is used exclusively to support the operation and continuous improvement of the journal, including:

  • Editorial management & Peer review administration;
  • Professional production services & DOI registration;
  • Digital preservation & Website development;
  • Metadata management & Open-access dissemination.

Publication fees are not distributed to editors or peer reviewers as incentives for manuscript acceptance.
